Household Pressure Systems

Water from a water tank will not automatically flow into your house unless it is mounted on an overhead tank stand or higher on a hill. Therefore the water must be pumped into the house with an automatic pressure pump.

These pumps are controlled with an electronic controller that activates the pump when you turn a tap on in the house and switches off again when you close the tap. You don’t have to lift a finger!

The pump runs continuously whilst the tap is open. This is particularly important when you are standing in the shower – particularly on a cold winter’s morning. The last thing you want is a shower going hot and cold all the time.

Attendance at extensive training courses by major pump manufacturers over the years means that Ebenezer Water are very well qualified to offer the right choice of pump to make sure your personal lifestyle is not compromised.

Many companies would try to sell a pump with only cost in mind.

However, there are some important points to be taken into consideration when choosing the right pump for you. Certainly cost is an important factor. But years down the track, the cost is long forgotten with the satisfaction of having the water you need – when you need it.

Careful consideration should be given to the size of your house and how many in the family. That way we can offer a pump with a perfect blend of pressure and flow rate to supply an excellent water supply in your home.

There are other ways of improving pump performances. Simple things like asking your plumber to ring main the water supply lines will dramatically improve performance – particularly with larger homes.

Please feel free to talk to us about these and other ideas. We are more than happy to help. You can choose between respected brand names such as Australian made “Onga” or European excellence “Grundfos”.

Bore Pumps

There are two main types of pumps commonly used for deep bores. These are….

  1. Submersible
  2. Jet Pumps

The basic difference is that a submersible pump is totally immersed in the water inside the bore casing, and a jet pump sits on the ground and has a jet and venturi system below the water which utilises Earth’s gravity to lift the water.

The most common is the submersible pump and is found in applications everywhere. They can generally pump to a higher head than a jet pump with a smaller motor.

As a rule of thumb, a jet pump requires approximately twice the horse power of a submersible to pump the same amount of water.

A jet pump is better suited in bores with high quantities of sand or foreign matter content, or more importantly if there is a requirement to use the pump on a pressure system for which they are perfectly suited. Most submersible pump motors are not designed to withstand the multiple starts required in many pressure systems, so the life expectancy of the motor can be substantially reduced.

Once again, talk to Ebenezer Water and we will find out what your needs and plans are, and then select a system that works!

Sheds

Ahhh! The great debate! A shed - or a bigger games room? A man has to have a shed just like a plane has to have wings.

With Ebenezer on your side, you can have both.

By taking a careful look at your needs, we can tailor a size that not only fits a shed into the budget but will leave enough left over for more room for the home theatre.

Quite literally, there are endless equations to “mix-and-match” any size – without compromising quality.

Utilising shed building experience of well over 25 years in an industry which sees manufacturers come and go with regular monotony – and many hurt customers along the way – we can offer stability and assurance of quality. After all, companies don’t continue to flourish for 3 decades if their product is of questionable quality.

Construction materials depend on the actual size of the finished product.

Garages. With over 300 sizes to choose from, you can be confident that your garage is extra strong with its fully framed angle iron columns and gables.
Sheds. For the more serious storage needs where height and extra size are a requirement, we offer RHS high tensile frames with parallel chord trusses.
Workshops. Not just a glorified garden shed, but a fully framed structure with a choice of flat or gable roofs. Standard equipment includes gutters and downpipes as well as a fully lockable wide door.

Selection tips

To keep your choice of garage or shed within the most economical price structure, here are a few selection tips that may help – as well as some of the options you may consider.

A sheet of iron covers approx 0.76 metres. Therefore, most sheds are designed in approximate 1.5 or 3 metre increments. So therefore try to stay within the following parameters….

  1. Length – in increments of 3 metres (Other alternatives are available)
  2. Width – again mostly in 3 metres, but 1.5 metres is fine less than 9 metres.
  3. Wall Height – from 2.4 metres in 300mm increments.
  4. Sliding Doors – are more cost effective if placed in the gable ends rather than along the sides.
  5. Cladding – Trimdeck is a cheaper option than corrugated, so therefore Trimdeck is the standard cladding. However corrugated profile can be very effective if you are trying to create a special effect.
  6. Colour – Colorbond is freely available and more popular than Zincalume. However if the budget is stretched, then a good compromise could be colour walls and Zincalume roof. To add to the special aesthetic effect, consider using a contrasting colour in the gutters and flashings – it is no more expensive than one colour all over.
  7. Accessories – You may like to include personal effects like a Personnel door, sliding window, skylights, whirlybird etc.

So if you need to store a wheelbarrow or a 200 tonne dump truck, we have the size for you.
